As a lifelong resident of Chatham-Kent, I have been proud to call Ward 2 home. This community has shaped who I am, and throughout my life I have been committed to giving back to the people and places that have given so much to me. Whether through my work in senior care, my involvement with local organizations, or simply being present and engaged in community events, I have always believed that strong communities are built by people who care and who are willing to put in the work.
For almost two decades, I have worked in the senior care sector, where I have had the privilege of advocating for some of our community’s most vulnerable residents. That passion for advocacy naturally expanded into a desire to serve the broader community, which led me to municipal politics. Over the last eight years, I have had the honour of representing the residents of Ward 2 and being your voice at the Council table.
I am incredibly grateful for the trust and confidence you have placed in me. Serving this community has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, and I have worked hard every day to represent your interests with honesty, dedication, and common sense.
Over the past eight years, our community has celebrated many successes while also facing significant challenges and unprecedented times. Through it all, I have remained focused on finding practical solutions, listening to residents, and advocating for what matters most to Ward 2. We have witnessed tremendous commercial and residential growth throughout Chatham-Kent, creating new opportunities for families, businesses, and future generations. At the same time, economic uncertainty and emerging challenges remind us that experienced leadership and thoughtful decision-making are more important than ever.
Ward 2 is unique. It encompasses a diverse mix of urban neighbourhoods, rural communities, and agricultural interests, each with its own priorities and perspectives. I recognize the importance of balancing these interests and ensuring every voice is heard. Not every decision made at Council is easy, and not every decision will satisfy everyone. However, I firmly believe in making decisions that are informed, transparent, and focused on the long-term success of our community.
One of the things I value most is being accessible and responsive to residents. Whether it’s a phone call, an email, a chance conversation at a local event, or a meeting with a community group, I understand that the concerns you bring forward are important. Listening, responding, and advocating on your behalf will always be at the heart of my role as your Councillor.
If re-elected, I will continue to be a visible and active presence throughout Ward 2. As a strong community advocate, I am committed to working collaboratively with residents, businesses, agricultural partners, service clubs, and community organizations to address challenges and create opportunities. Real leadership is about more than attending meetings or being in front of a camera; it is about doing the work behind the scenes, preparing thoroughly, asking the difficult questions, and ensuring taxpayers receive the accountability and transparency they deserve.
I encourage residents to stay engaged and to follow Council discussions and budget deliberations. Over the last eight years, I have not been afraid to ask tough questions and challenge the status quo when necessary. I will continue to be a strong voice for Ward 2, advocating for responsible growth, sound financial management, and investments that improve the quality of life for everyone who calls this community home.
The past eight years have taught me a great deal, but there is still much work to be done and many opportunities ahead. I remain energized by the possibility of building an even stronger future for Ward 2 and all of Chatham-Kent. My commitment remains the same today as it was when I first sought office: to serve with integrity, to listen with respect, and to always put our community first.
Thank you for your support, your trust, and the opportunity to continue serving the community I am proud to call home.
